So
you are interested in our club?
First
of all, you need to be a woman with a positive attitude. You will
need to actively ride, be licensed and insured to ride a motorcycle
that is at least 600cc to be a patched member. You need to understand
that we don't just patch any woman motorcycle rider. It is an
honor to wear our patch and you must be voted in by our Sisters
to join after your prospect period of six months, if you are serious
about joining. There is a “Hang-Around’ category that
the women start off with and may continue to remain in, if they
do not own a bike or are not interested in progressing. You must
be at least 21 years old. Taic Sinn (supporters) will pay 25.00.
Prospects (prospective members) pay 40.00. Contact one of our
Presidents or the National Chapter President Grumbles: soswmc@hotmail.com
or our Foothills Chapter President Sidetrac at: sandski@gotnet.net.

Most
of our sisters are proud to be "out" as gay women, but
ANY woman who wants to join us may do so as long as they respect
what we are all about. We are WOMEN who love to ride have fun,
and ofcourse be safe. We support women, children, animals, health
and community events. We try to attend as many events and fundraisers
as we possibly can.
What
happened to Leather and Lace? What is up with the Scota name?
Sisters
of Scota WMC evolved from Leather and Lace Women’s Motorcycle
Club (LLWMC) that originally began in 1979, and was officially
established in 1981. Our Founder and National President is Dayna
Davidson, AKA “Grumbles and our National Network Liaison
is Tyler Sands, AKA “Gramps”. Both of these women
are truly the heart and soul of our organization and are the reason
that we are what we are today. We have a large network of SOSWMC
charters and chapters throughout the Western United States.
The
Leather and Lace name was difficult to conduct business with because
it was too common. We decided to change the name to Sisters of
Scota WMC, since our founder is of Scottish heritage and the members
related to the principles taught by Scota. Scota was an ancient
Celtic warrior Goddess who taught men warriors honorable and valuable
skills.
